Kung Fu

Not much is new with us. Jared works a lot. I'm prepping for baby and also going to school. I just thought I would post about my big news. I can really feel little man move! I know it's not much, but for me it's the best feeling in the world! I could feel him move a little bit for about 3 weeks, but the last week he has been doing Kung Fu in my belly! Last night it was strong enough that I told Jared to put his hand on my belly and see if he could feel it. I'll never forget that look of excitement on his face when he felt a movement. It's so much fun to feel him move from time to time. He moves a lot when I'm in noisy places, but is relatively calm with just small movements when I'm home alone. It's still a funny feeling, but it makes me so happy. I know it will quickly turn into him kicking me and causing physical harm, but I'll take it! I'm finally letting it sink in that it's happening. I'm finally going to welcome a sweet spirit into our lives. I avoided looking at baby stuff for so many years because it was so painful, but now I'm planning a nursery and looking at cute clothes and wondering what he'll be like. My mom is almost as excited as I am. He already has multiple quilts made or almost made, she's started his blessing blanket, and is now working on quiet books. With me being an only child, this will be her first grandchild and she can hardly stand the wait. Jared's family is also very excited. If my counting is correct he will be the 20th grandchild, or thereabout, in his family. Either way he is already a very loved and blessed child. Now we are given the job to not screw him up too bad ;)

Also, I'm looking into parenting books about babies and the first year. Any suggestions on great books?

Don't love Baby Wise, but I do love What to expect when you are expecting, they also make a what to expect in the first year book too i believe. I've heard "The Sleep Lady's Good Night, Sleep Tight", and Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby." So excited for you! Think of you every day.
